I hate injustice!!! Exclusive interview with the queen of soap in Nigeria- Carol King

Dear Readers, we are thrilled to share with you an exclusive interview with the queen of soap opera...'Carol King'. A standing ovation for her please! This sexy mama, is not just a fabulous actress, but also a very sweet, funny, and intelligent lady. Carol King started her acting career 13 years ago, and she has since then starred in big soaps and movies, like
"Everyday people, I need to know, Tinsel, 168 Love stories, Blaze of glory, Edge of paradise, wrongful passions, gods are still not to blame, journey to self and more. Carol King also anchored a talk show in 2005. Read on to know more about Carol King.

NWC: At what age did acting for you cross from a hobby to something more serious?

CK: Acting has always been a combination of both i.e its serious and a hobby and it still is because I can't honestly say it pays my bill. I am in it for the love and passion I have for it. However, if you are asking when I went professional, then my answer is about 13years ago.

NWC: Are you married?

CK: Yes o, very married with grown up children sef.

NWC: What movie of yours are you most proud of? Why?

CK: If you have followed my career, you will notice that I have done more of soaps than movies so if you are asking which soap I am most proud of, I will have to say it was '168 LOVE STORIES' and that's because I played a blind pianist in it. It was quite challenging and fun because the director Kabat Esosa wanted close-up shots of my hands actually playing the piano so I had to learn to do it.

NWC: Are you selective when it comes to roles?

CK:  Oh yes, very! I have to first of all know without a doubt that the role will impact society positively, secondly that I can make the character believable.

NWC: How do people react to you when you enter a large party?

CK: It depends o. Most times, people recognize me and nod or wave while the very friendly ones come close and tell me how they appreciate my work, snap pictures etc, but then, there are the snobs of course who just give you a cursory glance and carry on with what they are doing...lol!

NWC: What would you be doing if you weren't an actor?

CK: I will probably be a lawyer/business woman, because I hate injustice.
NWC: What's your favorite pig out food?

CK: My favorite pig out food is barbecued meat, kidney, gizzard and bread (as in Agege bread) made into a sandwich downed with a very very cold bottle of coke.

NWC: How was it working with Funke Fayoyin on "the gods are still not to blame?

CK: It was a pleasure working with Funke Fayoyin on 'The gods are still not to blame'...I love it when I come across youngsters who have dreams and visions. You will not believe the challenges encountered during the making of the movie but just watching her plod through increased my hope for the youth of this nation.

NWC: When a scene calls for you to display hatred, what do you think about?

CK: The way I work, I always find the motivation for the emotion (whether hate, anger, misery etc) in what the character I am playing is going through. I see whatever character I am playing as a real person not withstanding that it's make believe, in as long as it's not science fiction, there is always someone out there that will be able to identify with the role you are playing and feel that you are telling their story so there is a deep need for me to be true to whatever role I portray.

NWC: And finally, what do you think the world will be in 100 years?

CK: Hmmm! If you are asking me what I hope the world will be in a 100 years, I will say I hope it will be devoid of wars, diseases and that every person would have come to the knowledge of Christ living in harmony etc, but then some people will argue that such thinking is Utopian.
