Q: Who's Bayo Alawiye?
 
ANS: Bayo Alawiye is an actor and a TV/film director. I studied theatre arts at the premiere university, university of Ibadan. I was an on-air personality on Radio Benue 2 Markudi for about a year, that was during my Nysc. I came back to Lagos after my service to face acting. 

Q: How long have you being an actor?

ANS: Well, I started acting on stage in 1998, but professionally, my acting career started 2006. That amount to almost seven years now.

Q: What made you chose acting?

ANS: I guess I chose acting first because I was curious. I wanted to know if I could enact some characters I read in some books. When I did, a lot of people felt I did well, so I decided to pursue a degree in theatre arts to sharpen my acting skills.

Q: What would you say about the role you played in the gods are still not to blame?Any challenges?

ANS: The role I played in the gods are still not to be blame was an interesting one. I have had this long romance with Ola Rotimi's version of the story because I played Odewale the lead severally on stage. When I was then asked to come and play the modern version of the character, I was intrigued. While one absolute ruler, the other a military man living in a democratic society. That disparity made it a bit challenging for me. With directorial help we were able to pull through.

Q: How much do you draw on your own experience when you act?

ANS: My experience has always been like the skill bag where I pull stuff out each time there's an acting call. Like in the case of still not to blame, my acting experience as Odewale helped me a great deal in the interpretation of Nicolas Payne, the modern version.

Q: What's the first thing that always come to your mind when you get a script?

ANS: Get the thematic pre-occupation and search for the less obvious. That is the way I was thought to go through a script for interpretation. It has always been my guiding principle whenever I receive a new script.

Q: What do you do for fun?

ANS: I go to the cinema to see movies often. I guess that's what's fun for me.

Q: What's your favorite sports team?

ANS: Nigerian national football teams.

Q: Is there a battle of sexes? Who's winning?

ANS: I think there is and there will always be. As for who's winning, there can never be a clear winner. It's a continuous friendly battle.

Q: And finally, A guy points a gun at someone to shoot them,


but as he pulls the trigger, he changes his mind and aims off the other side, the bullet ricochets off a wall and kills the victim anyway. Is the shooter responsible?


ANS: I think the shooter is still responsible. If the shooter had not pulled the trigger, nothing would have happened.


 Some of you who has seen the movie still not to blame will agree with us that Bayo Alawiye is a great actor. He did justice to his character in the movie. For those of you who hasn't seen it yet, go to any cinema around you and see that thrilling movie. Bayo is currently working on a new movie, and he has recently done couple of big flicks like, Richie Richie, "Dark side (produced and directed by Bayo Alawiye. Coming soon) and so many more.
